Old Creek Ranch

Ojai Valley Heritage Brought to Life Through Wine Packaging Design

Located in Ojai Valley, the Old Creek Ranch property began its first winery developments in 1906, passing hands through multiple generations over the next 100 years until its most recent revival. With this revival came the need to express the turning of a new chapter through the wine packaging itself. Makers & Allies crafted a refined wine packaging system that honors the ranch’s heritage while signaling its forward momentum. The objective of this new wine series release was to encapsulate the deep history of the ranch through handcrafted artwork that creates intrigue, tells a unique story, and pays homage to the land.

To bring this vision to life, the design system draws from the natural textures, hand-tooled materials, and agricultural roots of Old Creek Ranch. Each label incorporates subtle illustrative details that reference the surrounding landscape, giving every bottle a sense of place and personality. Tactile paper stock, restrained typography, and production finishes inspired by traditional craft methods help reinforce the ranch’s honest, hardworking identity while elevating the overall presentation.

This approach also allows the brand to expand the series over time with cohesion and flexibility. Whether applied to future varietals or limited releases, the system provides a consistent visual language that bridges past and present. The result is a wine packaging experience that feels handcrafted, grounded, and culturally tied to the Ojai Valley—one that welcomes both longtime supporters and new consumers into the next era of Old Creek Ranch.
