Linne Calodo
The Mad Scientist
Obscured by the surrounding hillsides, the wines of Linne Calodo are shaped by the land where they were grown and the personalities of those who grew them. Neither contrived nor forced, these specimens are always intriguingly unexpected. While inspired by the natural world where the wines begin, our work for Linne Calodo embraces the otherworldly effects that only a true artist, or perhaps a mad scientist, can impart on the final blend.

Product Design
Inspired by the vineyard’s rugged terroir and the winemaker's humble nature, Linne Calodo’s labels front labels are abstract renderings of charcoal rubbings of the vines. Like the wines themselves, each rubbing is a unique expression, dictated by the movement of nature and human touch. These are some of the highest regarded wines in the Paso Robles region, and due to their exclusivity, the wines are sold through a tight allocation to a cult-like, in-the-know audience, allowing for the textural, art-driven front labels to showcase the personality of each blend.

Taking a cue from our packaging inspiration, Linne Calodo's digital experience is textural, mysterious, and inspired by the natural elements of the estate and the calculated risk of the winemaking process – the confluence of control and chaos that results in some of the world's finest wines. It's wine viewed through the lends of science fiction, giving insight into what's behind the curtain without ever fully giving away the secret.

Capturing the textures, liveliness, and spirit of the property and winemaking process was paramount to our digital goal of giving the user a glimpse into the coveted experience at Linne Calodo's estate. Of course, we also got to capture owner and winemaker Matt Trevisan in his natural habitat. One of our favorite quotes of his: "After all, it's her game. We're all simply playing it." The her? Mother Nature, of course.
