Setup Instructions
1. Unpack Your Kit: Make sure you have all the required components
- Key Light
- Lighting Tripod
- Video Camera (FaceCam Pro)
- USB-C Dongle
- Key Light Power Cable
- FaceCam Pro Cable
- Wave Mic + Cable
- USB-C to USB-A adapters
- Key Light Remote
Setting Up the Light
2. Attach the Key Light to the Tripod
- Open the tripod so the top mount is accessible.
- Align the baseplate on the bottom of the Key Light with the tripod mount.
- If the opening is too tight, turn the silver knob on top to widen it.
- Slide the light into place, then tighten the silver knob until secure.
3. Extend the Tripod Legs
- Open each of the three legs halfway.
- Loosen each leg’s base by turning counterclockwise, then extend upward.
- Adjust to a height where the light will sit slightly above eye level when seated.
- Position the tripod so the light is slightly off to one side of your computer screen.
4. Connect Power to the Key Light
- Locate the cord labeled “Key Light.”
- Plug the AC adapter into the power port on the back of the light.
- Plug the other end into a wall outlet.
Setting Up the Camera
5. Prepare the Camera
- Find the video camera in the kit.
- On the bottom, unfold the expandable foot designed to rest on top of a monitor.
6. Connect the Camera Cable
- Locate the cable labeled “FaceCam Pro.”
- Plug it into the port on the back of the camera.
Setting Up the Dongle and Microphone
7. Connect the Camera to the Dongle
- Find the USB-C dongle.
- On the dongle, identify the USB-C port with the box icon (center-left).
- Plug the camera cable into this port.
8. Connect the Microphone
- Locate the Wave Mic and the cable labeled “Wave Mic.”
- Plug the USB-C end into the back of the microphone.
- Plug the USB-A end into the left USB-A port on the dongle.
9. Mount the Camera on Your Monitor
- Place the unfolded camera foot on top of your display.
- The front lip should hook onto the front of the screen, with the back foot resting behind it.
- Adjust until the camera is centered and stable.
Connecting Everything to Your Computer
10. Plug the Dongle Into Your Computer
- Insert the dongle’s main USB-C connector into your computer.
- If your device lacks USB-C:
- Use a USB-C to USB-A adapter, then plug it into your computer.
Powering and Adjusting the Light
11. Turn On the Key Light
- Find the Key Light remote.
- Press the power button to turn the light on.
- If it doesn’t power on:
- Flip the reset switch on the back of the light.
- Try again with the remote.
12. Adjust Brightness & Color Temperature
- Use the remote to customize:
- Brightness level
- Warm vs. cool color temperature
- Aim for a soft, natural light that illuminates your face from the side rather than directly overhead.
Final Device Checks
13. Verify Microphone Settings
- Ensure the Wave Mic is powered on.
- Set the gain/volume between 2 and 3 for clean audio.
Configuring Riverside
14. Open Riverside and Enter the Setup Screen
- Launch Riverside.
- When joining a conference, a setup panel appears on the right side.
15. Select the Correct Camera
- In the top dropdown, choose Elgato FaceCam Pro.
16. Select the Correct Microphone
- In the next dropdown, choose Elgato Wave 3.
17. Troubleshoot Missing Devices (If Needed)
- If either device doesn’t appear:
- Double-check cable connections.
- Be sure each item is plugged into the correct port on the dongle.
- Refresh the Riverside dropdown list.
