Who you are.

As Finance & HR Manager your focus will be on creating financial and team success for the company as the central manager of all things financial and personnel related at Makers & Allies. We will rely on you to ensure that financials are set up for success and to be a resource for team support, alongside providing our clients best in class service time and time again. 

You are a strategic thinker and have an attention to detail that rivals others particularly when it comes to numbers and clarity of communication. You thrive on staying organized, and using data as a means of helping create both short & long term financial plans.

You will be asked to provide financial analysis to the leadership team so that they can make informed decisions in both the new business and recruiting pipelines. As an optimizer who thrives on constantly improving processes & systems, you are passionate about presenting these solutions & have a knack for great communication. 

We’re looking for a positive team player with a let’s-figure-this-out attitude who wants to jump in and hit the ground running. Someone who can create long lasting relationships with our team & clients is a must. 

 

What you can do.

Finance:

  • Mastery of numbers and spreadsheets to create and manage financial forecasts, accounting responsibilities, and reporting.
  • Communicate effectively with management about the financial state of the business and any strategic insights. 
  • Skilled communicator who can link company finances to overall business objectives and goals.
  • Manage semi-monthly company payroll (employees, contractors, bill pay)
  • Successfully manage company accounts receivable and comfortably respond to client calls, emails and inbound inquiries with ease
  • Manage financial reporting and accurate documentation of financial statements (i.e.. Payroll, tax forms, balance sheets, income statements, etc.)
  • Support and grow in the role by actively seeking out and proposing ideas to better improve company financial operations. Collaborate, and at times, own internal projects to enhance systems
  • Manage the set up of all new client contract agreements from confirmed proposal acceptance (MSA/SOW/Docusign)
  • Manage onboarding of all signed projects into Harvest for financial tracking and AR invoicing 
  • Partner with new business team to visualize annual revenue goals tracking and future financial projections based on pipeline growth

 

Human Resources:

  • Support the recruiting team in an effort to identify and prioritize new positions, salary ranges, and overall successful onboarding process of new team members
  • Manage the set up and onboarding / offboarding of all team members (Gusto)
  • Manage the set up of new contractor resources contract agreements (PSA/SOW/Gusto)
  • Utilize your experience and judgment to respond to team inquiries and questions with clarity
  • Manage ongoing updates to Team Member Handbook
  • Manage updates and administration needs to team member benefits package offering 

 

Must haves. 

  • 6+ years experience in a lead financial role 
  • 3+ years experience in an HR related role 
  • Extreme organization and efficiency 
  • High proficiency with numbers and data
  • Meticulous and consistent attention to detail
  • Ethical mindset 
  • Trustworthy with confidential information 
  • Collaborative nature with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to thrive in a results-driven environment
  • Experience with accounting software and project management systems (e.g. GoogleDocs, GoogleSheets, Quickbooks, Basecamp, Slack, Gusto & Harvest, or similar systems)
